iPPSA is The Trade Association for Buyers of Print
The Trade Association is an independent community environment modeled on the
consumer organisation Which? iPPSA provides its members with an independent
source of information and a voice within the graphics industry. iPPSA is totally
independent and is able to report on any subject honestly, with no conflicting interests
based on financial support or based on promoting or selling products, services or equipment.
All individuals within the marketing, creative, graphics and printing industries that buy
or have influence over the design and the print specification can join iPPSA. The Trade
Association is funded by businesses that advertise in the business index of Openbook.
iPPSA exists to:
- Provide complete support for buyers of print, marketing and creative services
- Support the implementation of the new CSR compliant, ethical Purchasing Standard
- Maintain an online community networking portal (Openbook)
- Ensure members are aware of new emerging technologies
- Deliver new training courses and professional qualifications for print buyers
- Educate and support the implementation of best practice
- Represent buyers and Brand Owners within the industry
- Bring the whole industry together under one roof
single point of reference for all industry information. iPPSA’s aim is to provide instant high
quality information at every stage, so that any individual can make instant high quality decisions.
Empowering individuals will change the dynamics of the decision making processes forever and
will enable us to create a more productive “right first time” production model.
iPPSA represents buyers and Brand Owners within industry forums, such as BSi and Cips.
Until now, there has not been any effective representation for Brand Owners or buyers in the industry
or a community where print buyers could share knowledge, best practice and could belong.
iPPSA has brought together a group of like minded trade associations and training providers
and created a Knowledge Sharing Network and The iPPSA Training Co-operative.
These organisations are working together to provide buyers with bespoke workshops,
training programs and eventually professional qualifications. iPPSA is working with
government organisations to make funding easily accessible.
iPPSA’s solution is simple, COLLABORATION
iPPSA believes that the whole supply chain is interdependent and the best way to create a secure,
predictable future is to work together to deliver a new code of practice for buying print, graphics
and marketing services. iPPSA calls this “Fair Trade”. The new environment is fully transparent
and all actions and performance levels are visible. Instead of just “one to one” relationships, where
many practices are hidden, where there is a lack of accountability and where we make it difficult to
learn from our mistakes. iPPSA has created a “many to many” environment with total accountability
at every level. This is the only purchasing philosophy that guarantees CSR compliance.
The rocket science is that iPPSA is looking at all sides of the industry and providing a single business
model that provides answers for all the disparate issues. The model is not an instant panacea but it
gives everyone involved a single vision and a community continuous improvement process that will
give us the chance to achieve our goals.
“What’s the point of highlighting the problems if we don’t offer a solution". iPPSA believes that the
best way to justify long term goals, like training, is to include them in a business model that answers
the short and long term needs of companies.
